Starring: Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Tabu, Gerard Depardieu
Directed by: Ange Lee

Andrew says: I, like so many who loved the book, was very worried when I heard about the film adaptation of Life of Pi, the Man Booker Prize winning masterpiece. But to my joy it is an extraordinary film, an amazing visual journey while still retaining the bold symbolism of the novel it is based on. An absolute must see, and something to watch over and over again.

Embark on the adventure of a lifetime in this visual masterpiece from Ang Lee, based on the best-selling novel. After a cataclysmic shipwreck, young Pi Patel finds himself stranded on a lifeboat with only one other survivor - a ferocious Bengal tiger named Richard Parker. Bound by the need to survive, the two are cast on an epic journey that must be seen to be believed.

REACHER IS HERE
Click here for more details or to order JACK REACHER

Starring: Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins, Werner Herzog

Andrew says: Like the books? Then you'll love the movie. Many doubted if Tom Cruise could play the part of the brilliant anti-hero. Consider it played...

In an innocent heartland city, five are shot dead by an expert sniper. The police quickly identify and arrest the culprit, and build a slam-dunk case. But the accused man claims he's innocent and says, "Get Jack Reacher."

Reacher himself sees the news report and turns up in the city. The defense is immensely relieved, but Reacher has come to bury the guy. Shocked at the accused's request, Reacher sets out to confirm for himself the absolute certainty of the man's guilt, but comes up with more than he bargained for.

WILL SAM MENDES RETURN FOR THE NEXT JAMES BOND?

Hot on the heels of news that Nicolas Winding Refn (who directed the brilliant Drive with Ryan Gosling) was being considered to direct the next installment of the long-running secret agent franchise, other names in the running have been revealed including Shane Black, Ang Lee and Tom Hooper. Pretty strong list huh?

And now, a twist. Skyfall director Sam Mendes stated back in March, "It has been a very difficult decision not to accept the producers' very generous offer to direct the next Bond movie." But Mendes is now in talks to return after all.

Initially, Mendes had said, "Directing Skyfall was one of the best experiences of my professional life, but I have theatre and other commitments, including productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and King Lear, that need my complete focus over the next year and beyond." Sources say Team Bond talked again with Mendes and they decided to wait for him to finish those previous commitments and start production on the next film sometime next year. So that means no Bond in 2014.

But still, that's exciting news for Skyfall fans the world over, and Bond could fall to those other directors next time.

THE ACCLAIMED SECOND SERIES
Click here for more details or to order CALL THE MIDWIFE - SERIES 2
Starring: Cliff Parisi, Laura Main, Bryony Hannah, Helen George, Judy Parfitt

Andrew says: It's the biggest show in Britain, and many are calling the second season better than the first!

Back to 1950s East End London for more touching and compelling stories from the nurses and nuns of Nonnatus House.

It's 1958 and the hard-working midwives of Nonnatus House continue to serve the crowded tenements and slums of Poplar. As they struggle with the challenges of poverty, domestic abuse and the spectre of TB, the midwives also face crises of their own. A chance encounter reunites Jenny with Jimmy; Chummy and P.C. Noakes face a dilemma over their imminent future; a tragic birth puts Cynthia in the spotlight and Trixie enjoys an all-too-tantalising taste of celebrity lifestyle.

Back at Nonnatus House, Sister Julienne struggles to keep the beleaguered convent on an even keel as dementia-stricken Sister Monica Joan finds comfort in the friendship of new orderly, Jane; Sister Bernadette experiences a spiritual crisis and Sister Evangelina puts her foot down regarding pain relief.

Andrew says: An incredibly underrated film, and should have won a few more gongs in my opinion. Brilliant performances, amazing special effects and an astonishing true story of love and survival.

A British family on Christmas holiday at a beach resort in Thailand is torn apart when a deadly tsunami devastates the area.

A perfect paradise vacation until a distant noise becomes a roar.

There is no time to escape from the tsunami; Maria and her eldest are swept one way, Henry and the youngest another. Who will survive, and what will become of them?

THE TRUE STORY OF THE MASTER OF SUSPENSE
Click here for more details or to order HITCHCOCK
Starring: Danny Huston, Scarlett Johansson, Helen Mirren, Anthony Hopkins

Andrew says: To those who worked with him, he was a brilliant mystery. But what about those who loved him? A great cast examines the mercurial world of Alfred Hitchcock.

Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren are spellbinding in this provocative story about the making of one of cinema's most iconic films.

Plagued by both a reckless ego and nagging self-doubt, Hollywood legend Alfred Hitchcock (Hopkins) becomes obsessed with a grisly murder story that the studios won't back. Determined, he risks his reputation, his home and even the love of his wife Alma (Mirren), as he sets out to make the film. Ultimately, Hitch wins Alma over and the two collaborate to create an enduring masterpiece - Psycho.

SO GANGSTER...

Starring: Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte, Emma Stone, Sean Penn

Andrew says: Just look at that cast! Gosling, Penn, Brolin, Stone, Nolte. A great film about the days of crime, when the streets were dirty and the water was clean.

The year is 1949 and ruthless gangster Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) has the city of Los Angeles in his grip. Against a gang protected by rampant corruption, Chief Bill Parker (Nick Nolte) resorts to extremes.

He enlists battle-hardened hero Sgt John O'Mara (Josh Brolin) to form a unit to exact vigilante justice. Their job isn't to make arrests...it's to make war. As the city explodes in gunfire, jaded cop Sgt Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling) is reluctantly drawn into the fight as he falls hard for Grace Faraday (Emma Stone), the elegant beauty whom Cohen claims as his own. Inspired by an incredible true story, Gangster Squad blows open the secret files of the cops who fought for L.A.'s soul.

ERNEST HAS ARRIVED
Click here for more details or to orderHEMINGWAY AND GELLHORN
Starring: Clive Owen,  Nicole Kidman, Rodrigo Santoro,  David Strathairn

Andrew says: Finally a film has been made about one of the most celebrated romances of the modern age. Two brilliant performances and a wonderful script make Hemingway and Gellhorn a must-see for any book and movie lover.

A drama centered on the romance between Ernest Hemingway and WWII correspondent Martha Gellhorn.

Hemingway's inspiration for For Whom the Bell Tolls, Gellhorn was legendarily the only woman who ever asked for a divorce from the writer.
